Scripture Song: Psalm 107 "Whoever is Wise" for Thanksgiving Week
This week I thought it would be great to have a scripture song that helps us consider all that God has done in our lives. In Psalm 107, David gives us a framework for how we can consider all of God's faithful works of grace. The verses reflect the paragraph stories communicated in the Psalm. The chorus is memory verse from from 107:43 in the ESV translation. The bridge is a declaration of the first verse: "Let the redeemed say so!" I pray this song and this passage will encourage you as it has me.
Thanks to Micah Tyler for his editing and idea brilliance:)
“Verse 1: (vv4-9)
Some of us wandered in deserts
With no one and nowhere to hide
Some of us were hungry and thirsty
Weary souls so careless and blind
Pre-Chorus (vv6,13,19,28)
But we cried to the Lord.
He heard us, He healed us,
He loosened the grip of the grave
Chorus: (v.43)
Whoever is wise, let him attend to these things;
Let them consider the steadfast love of the Lord. (repeat)
Verse 2: (vv10-16)
Some of us sat in darkness
Imprisoned, afflicted in chains
Some of us were captive and empty
Rebellious souls, armored in shame
Bridge: (vv1-2)
Let the redeemed say so. We lift our voice
With all Heav’n and earth our hearts rejoice
For His steadfast love we thank The Lord
Our gracious God has redeemed, restored”
